Deaney Gellizeau

Local President

Mr. Deaney Gellizeau is a determined young man who loves to do no less than leaving an indelible impression wherever he goes.
Although Deaney is only 18 years old, this has not stopped him from volunteering in Youth Organizations and making a meaningful impact. At the beginning of his volunteering journey, Deaney was the Vice President of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) Debate Club and the first speaker for the Windward Islands Debating Competition (WIDC), through the exposure created from intensive research conducted in the area of Youth Activism, Deaney has developed a profound interest for such.
Today, he is currently a Member of YOUNGO, the official Youth Constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and both a climate and youth ambassador for the World Bank and UN respectively. Through these organizations Deaney has had the opportunity to support initiatives aimed at climate adaptation and resilience as well as the opportunity to work extensively in the areas of Holistic Youth Development and Advocacy, Sustainable living, and Nature Based Solutions.
Recently, Deaney joined other youths from the region to contribute to the OECS World Bank Stakeholder Consultation on the Regional Partnership Framework that was developed to manage World Bank Projects in: Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
His passions include activism, videography and aviation and has clear intentions of becoming a very charismatic figure in the region such as Theophilus A. Marryshow.
His fascination for the art of public speaking has been greatly inspired by notable Caribbean politicians the likes of Timothy Harris, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves and Dr. Keith Mitchell.
His philosophy is: “We don’t dream to become, it’s our actions that determine the outcome of the future.”
